Sumner Bar water temperatures peak in the range 14 to 19°C on around the 8th of February and are at their lowest on about the 2nd of August, in the range 8 to 10°C .The highest seasonal water temperatures at Sumner Bar in December to mid February lend themselves to a 3’2 mm wetsuit or sometimes a spring suit. At its lowest in early August, low water temperatures at Sumner Bar are suited to a 5/4mm or 5/3mm good quality wetsuit with neoprene gloves, hoods and 3mm boots. You will need a hood if it's windy or the air is cold.
